Summary

Dear Reader,

If you have not read anything about the Baudelaire orphans, then before you read even one more sentence, you should know this: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are kindhearted and quick-witted, but their lives, I am sorry to say, are filled with bad luck and misery。 All of the stories about these three children are unhappy and wretched, and this one may be the worst of them all。 If you haven't got the stomach for a story that includes a hurricane, a signalling device, hungry leeches, cold cucumber soup, a horrible villain, and a doll named Pretty Penny, then this book will probably fill you with despair。 I will continue to record these tragic tales, for that is what I do。 You, however, should decide for yourself whether you can possibly endure this miserable story。

With all due respect,

Lemony Snicket

This is a shorter audiobook than the average length, but that doesn't stop this book from being an interesting and mysterious book。 It is an audiobook that I quite enjoyed。 This is a shorter audiobook than the average length, but that doesn't stop this book from being an interesting and mysterious book。 It is an audiobook that I quite enjoyed。 。。。more

Funny story, this was the first book I read in the series when I started。 Weirdly enough I didn't realize that this was part of a series until the series came out on Netflix, then I read the whole thing before watching。 Now, because I've seen the show twice, I'm able to visualize everything very clearly and I'm surprised by the amount of accuracy of the tv show。 this brought back a very nostalgic feeling and I felt like I was 12 years old again, reading this for the first time。 There aren't that Funny story, this was the first book I read in the series when I started。 Weirdly enough I didn't realize that this was part of a series until the series came out on Netflix, then I read the whole thing before watching。 Now, because I've seen the show twice, I'm able to visualize everything very clearly and I'm surprised by the amount of accuracy of the tv show。 this brought back a very nostalgic feeling and I felt like I was 12 years old again, reading this for the first time。 There aren't that many easter eggs in this book but I still liked it a lot。 。。。more

I liked this book。 I found this book out from family members who watched the television series and recommended this book to me。 One thing I liked about this book was how I was able to comprehend and understand what was going on in the plot easily。 Something I liked about this book was how the characters, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny understood the situations they were in despite how everything was moving quickly。 Another thing I also enjoyed about this book was how fun the entire story and plot was。 I liked this book。 I found this book out from family members who watched the television series and recommended this book to me。 One thing I liked about this book was how I was able to comprehend and understand what was going on in the plot easily。 Something I liked about this book was how the characters, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny understood the situations they were in despite how everything was moving quickly。 Another thing I also enjoyed about this book was how fun the entire story and plot was。 Something I appreciated about this book was how the author included small grammar lessons that I previously didn’t understand。 Something I did not like about this book was how frustrating some of the characters, Mr。 Poe and Aunt Josephine were in not believing the Baudelaire's when they said it was Count Olaf, but just in disguise。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast and fun moving story line。 I would also recommend this book to people who also enjoy watching book adaptions。 。。。more

This audiobook was read by Lemony Snicket himself and I’ve got to say 。。 I hated his voice ! As a kid I imagined it idk。。 deeper? More mature sounding and mysterious? Not whiny and high pitched I didn’t like his narration at all! I read this series as I child and this was always one of my least favorites in the collection。 There isn’t as much humor until the end。 Aunt Josephine is a hot damn mess and is annoying AF! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Could be my least favorite guardian。 I wish they would’ve stayed with Monty, this one just annoyed the hell out of me。 Aunt Josephine could’ve been smart, used her brain and not have been such a coward。 Mr。 Poe, if only he listened to the children。Klaus, Sunny and Violet are angels and so freaking smart。 I will forever praise them for figuring the note out and sailing out during a storm。 No my fav so far, but it was entertaining。

The Wide Window is the third book in this Series of Unfortunate events and it is done beautifully。 The book was written by Lemony Snicket in 2000。 When I picked this book up for the first time I couldn’t put it down, I read the whole book in a couple weeks and enjoyed it so much。 This book does a ton of things so well and here are just a few。 The first being that the characters start to become a lot more developed and interesting。 This was already done in the first two books so I had my suspicio The Wide Window is the third book in this Series of Unfortunate events and it is done beautifully。 The book was written by Lemony Snicket in 2000。 When I picked this book up for the first time I couldn’t put it down, I read the whole book in a couple weeks and enjoyed it so much。 This book does a ton of things so well and here are just a few。 The first being that the characters start to become a lot more developed and interesting。 This was already done in the first two books so I had my suspicions that it might not be as good in this one, but it was done great。 The second being that setting and descriptions of areas and moments are done very well and paint a good picture in your head about what’s going on。 The last being that (just like in the other books) Count Olof is still portrayed as a very good villain and bad person that the three children have to look out for。 My rating for this would be very high somewhere near 5 starts if not five stars because of the great work done on this book。 If you enjoyed the first two books and want more of the same sort of stories then I would consider this book a must read。 。。。more

To maximize my time I decided to both read and listen to the audio book for this one。 I like to note when I listen through audio, because I feel like it does change the experience made。 I'll start my review by breaking down the characters involved。 First of course is the addition of Aunt Josephine。 Which I think is a funny, but also sad character。 I think sometimes it's hard for me to read children's novels because I can't read them with the same outlook。 To children Aunt Josephine probably seem To maximize my time I decided to both read and listen to the audio book for this one。 I like to note when I listen through audio, because I feel like it does change the experience made。 I'll start my review by breaking down the characters involved。 First of course is the addition of Aunt Josephine。 Which I think is a funny, but also sad character。 I think sometimes it's hard for me to read children's novels because I can't read them with the same outlook。 To children Aunt Josephine probably seems like a crazy lady who who is scared of anything, but to me she seems like she's struggling a lot, either with OCD or some sort of mental disorder。 I also thought her choice of living was very interesting。 I thought it was gross that she liked Captain Sham/Count Olaf。 Just knowing who he is a person。 I really thought he was going to try and woo Aunt Josephine, but threatening her was an interesting twist。 I thought the mystery element was kind of cool, at first I really did believe it was just Count Olaf, but I thought it was cool that Aunt Josephine knew they would know there's more to the letter。 I just thought they would think Count Olaf was good at forgoing signatures。 One thing I thought was interesting was that Count Olaf made Aunt Josephine put in her will that the kids would go to Captain Sham。 Since in the Baudelaire's parents will they want the kids to go to a family member。 So I would think they would want to stick to the will that is actually written out properly and that the Baudelaire's own parents wanted。 Also, HOW much is the fortune really。 I find it interesting just the lengths that Count Olaf and his goonies will go to get it。 It must be worth millions or something。 I honesty thought that Count Olaf had cut his own leg off or something。 I thought the addition of the wooden leg was kind of funny。 If it was around his real leg then the wooden leg must have looked really funny and must have been huge。 I think it's really sad that Aunt Josephine really did die。 It's kind of gruesome to hear of the murders that occur。 First Uncle Monty and now Aunt Josephine。 Although, I give her less props since she did throw the kids under the bus。 Overall, it was a good read。 I'm starting to get used the writing and the pacing。 。。。more

So far in the series this has been my favorite! The descriptions, and humor, are exactly how I like them; and the plot of this book is a fast paced read! I would suggest this book to anyone who loves the series, but also to anyone interested in the series but wants to skip the first couple of books。 This book would make a solid introduction to the story as well I think
